Mariana is an Architect and Urban Designer from Portugal, recently working as a Senior Architectural Designer at Zaha Hadid Architects; teaching at the Architectural Association in London, and doing Live workshops and webinars with students from all around the world. Graduated from the School of Architecture in Lisbon and the Politecnico di Milano, she moved to London to explore design and technology through the Postgraduate course: Design Research Laboratory at the Architectural Association School. Her research interests gravitate around Parametric Design; Generative Design; Digital Design and the evolution of Architecture through the use of technology such as Robotic Fabrication. She is part of Competition cluster, responsible for the High-End Design Projects of the Office.

Oscar McDonald

Oscar McDonald is an urban designer and architect. He studied Architecture at the University of Sheffield and continued his academic training at Westminster University where he completed MArch and PGDip courses in Architecture.

Oscar joined Space Syntax in 2018 and became an Associate in 2019. He has been involved in various projects in the UK and worldwide and has experience in consulting on urban scale master planning work and public realm design, as well as having extensive experience in traditional architecture and urban design roles on large scale projects. Recent work includes the concept masterplan for Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan. For this project Space Syntax is leading a multi-disciplinary team pioneering new ways to design cities using evidence based approaches and generative design.

Sujit Nair is principal designer and founder at SDeG, a multi-disciplinary practice based out of Bangalore, that he runs with his partner Aruna Sujit.   SDeG has won awards for both architecture and interiors, and in 2012 given the opportunity to exhibit at the Venice Architecture Biennale. SDeG was also featured on CNBC’s ‘young turks’ in 2013, a show widely known to recognize emerging entrepreneurs. In the past, Sujit has worked as ‘Architect’ at Zaha Hadid Architects, London. He holds a Masters’ degree in ‘Architecture and Urbanism’ from the Architectural Association, London (2004). Sujit has been active in architectural education, as visiting design critic at several architecture schools. He has lectured at architect forums, design schools and public events.

Ar Urvi Sheth is the Founder & Creative director of Craft Quest since its inception in 2010. She is Director, Workshops and Exhibitions at CEPT University and is visiting faculty at National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad. She completed her postgraduate in Architecture from Hyperbody at Technical University, Delft, the Netherlands and is in conversation with us today giving advice to students. Urvi Sheth is passionate about mixing state of the art technology, regional materials and crafts. Her research and practice has a global design approach and regional/local in execution.

Abhimanyu Acharya

Abhi joined Space Syntax as an Intern in October 2012, becoming a Project Consultant in 2013 and an Associate in 2018. His experience includes complex, mixed-use masterplanning and urban design projects in the UK, the Middle East, China and the USA. A particular area of focus has been the regeneration of unplanned settlements in the Middle East and India. Abhi studied architecture in India, where he was awarded his Bachelors in Architecture. He continued his studies at The Bartlett, UCL where he was awarded an MSc in Advanced Architectural Studies. His research focussed on the relationship between land use distribution & spatial layout and his Master’s thesis examined the pattern of development in satellite towns around New Delhi.

Priya Tadinada is a graduate Architect from JNAFAU (Hyderabad) and a current Masters's student of Design for Performance and Interaction (M.Arch) at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL (London, United Kingdom). Her inquisitiveness - that stemmed from understanding Architecture as a part of a bigger whole instigated her love towards interaction design, with a passion to design spaces that consist of what more than meets the eye - an experience. She believes that the subtle blend of architecture and the human emotional connect is what brings a space to ‘life’, which she aspires to create through her work in the near future. She enjoys writing, climbing mountains, and uses photography as an art of storytelling. She held a solo exhibition titled “Where Next?” in 2018 (Hyderabad, India) that captured moments of her travel stories into an abstract visual memoir.
